# La Mama Russe (Русская мама)

by Marie-Paola

Fur or faux-fur coat, fur cap, chapka… make me think of Russia! In my opinion, a fur cap is very elegant, but target older women. The young ones would go for a chapka!

Bag : Longchamp. Scarf :  Burberry.

by Marie-Paola

Marian from Granada, all in brown, loves spanish brands she mixed with international-branded accessories..

Coat: Massimo Dutti

Dress: Mango

Bag: Bimba y Lola

Scarf : Burberry

Sun glasses: Ray Ban

Mango‘s story is amazing. Two young guys, Isak and Nahman ANDIC arrived from Turkey to Spain when they are 14 years old. Isak traveled to Asia and went back with T shirts to sell them, with his brother in flea markets, twice the initial price . The idea worked and Isak started to make some clothes himself. They decided to call their business « Mango » , in memory of the fruit Isak tasted in the Philipines. First shop opened in 1984 in Barcelona, and nowadays Mango is present in 80 countries.

# “You are so chic… Are you French?”

by Marie-Paola

You know why an Erasmus year is so cool? Because you meet great people from all over the world, and some of them are so much like you, that you become very good friends. I met these 2 French guys in Bristol last year and they are now ones of my best friends (I love you). I saw them again for award ceremony last month, and when I took this pic in the street, a British girl said “You are so chic… Are you French?”. It was pretty funny, because yes we are French, but we were wearing, the 2 of us, the very British accessory: a Burberry scarf.

Burberry was created in 1956 by the British draper’s apprentice Thomas Burberry (he was only 21 years old!). He is the creator of the Gabardine, innovative concept, waterproof, and tear-proof (indéchirable).

Did you know that for World War I, Thomas Burberry has been commissioned by War Office and designed Trench Coats (manteau des tranchées) for the British Army?

Then he became an official supplier of King George 5. It is only in 1920 the famous tartan pattern was created, and it is, nowadays, one of the most widely copied trademarks…

He received “Royal Warrants” (reconnaissance royale) by George 5, Elizabeth 2, and Prince of Wales.

# Oh na na, what’s my name

by Marie-Paola

Big Fan of Burberry scarves, I wish I could have one in every color… oh, and the Longchamp briefcase (porte-document) <3, I offered the same to my BF.

Longchamp is a french fashion/luxury brand created in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain. Did you know that at the begining, the company was only selling articles for smokers?  Few years after, Longchamp has extended its line of products with leather and nylon bags/luggages. The « Pliage » concept was launched in the 70s; there is the possibility to fold the bag to gain place. But the Pliage line was launched in 1993 offering bags in different sizes in different colors :) . (Personally,I have 3 Pliages in 3 sizes in 3 colors, hihi). Well, Longchamp also creates golves and ties…
