You know why an Erasmus year is so cool? Because you meet great people from all over the world, and some of them are so much like you, that you become very good friends. I met these 2 French guys in Bristol last year and they are now ones of my best friends (I love you). I saw them again for award ceremony last month, and when I took this pic in the street, a British girl said “You are so chic… Are you French?”. It was pretty funny, because yes we are French, but we were wearing, the 2 of us, the very British accessory: a Burberry scarf.

Burberry was created in 1956 by the British draper’s apprentice Thomas Burberry (he was only 21 years old!). He is the creator of the Gabardine, innovative concept, waterproof, and tear-proof (indéchirable).
Did you know that for World War I, Thomas Burberry has been commissioned by War Office and designed Trench Coats (manteau des tranchées) for the British Army?
Then he became an official supplier of King George 5. It is only in 1920 the famous tartan pattern was created, and it is, nowadays, one of the most widely copied trademarks…
He received “Royal Warrants” (reconnaissance royale) by George 5, Elizabeth 2, and Prince of Wales.
